Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel Sofer is an American
actresswho is known for her roles on daytime TV, guest appearances as well as
made-for TV films. Sofer was awarded the Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for her
character Lois Cerullo on the soap drama General Hospital. Since 2013, she has
played Quinn Fuller on the CBS soap show The Bold and The Beautiful. Sofer was
born in Arcadia (California) to Susan Sofer and Martin Sofer. Martin Sofer is a
Conservative Rabbi. After the divorce of her parents Sofer's family moved to
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1970, Sofer emigrated with her brother David and
her father to Teaneck in New Jersey. They resided in Western Pennsylvania when
Sofer was five years old. They were raised in Ambridge, Pennsylvania by their
father, Beth Samuels Jewish Center. She then attended the Frisch School, a
coeducational Mordern Orthodox Jewish high school in Paramus, New Jersey. Sofer
was raised in North Bergen where her father was the synagogue's Rabbi Temple
Beth El. She graduated from North Bergen High School, after which she attended
classes at Montclair State College. Sofer was Lois Marie Cerullo for the first
time on General Hospital. In 1993, she was managing a band. Her first major
role was Rocky McKenzie on the daytime soap series Loving (1988-91). She is
most well-known for her appearance in General Hospital as Lois Cerullo
(December 15, 1993 – September 24 1996). Later, she was guest star (February
7-17 in 1997; September 30 to October 2, 1997). Sofer was presented with an
Daytime Emmy Award 1995 for Outstanding Supporting Artistress in a Drama Series
for her portrayal as Lois. In May 2013, it was announced that Sofer would join
the CBS soap series The Bold and the Beautiful and play the newly-created
character called Quinn Fuller; her first episode aired on July 12. Sofer has
been a support cast member/guest star in a several high-profile primetime
television series, including Seinfeld and Melrose Place. Her debut episode
aired July 12.
